MENDING DEFENCES

They were taking advantage of the low tide to carry out some maintenance on the Town Wall, as people have been doing for the last 700 years. On my way back to the car I passed several birders peering over a wall into a patch of grass and bushes, and they pointed out a Redstart (extra) which I would have completely overlooked. My photo is really just one for the record as I'm not aware of having seen one before.

From then on the afternoon really warmed up way beyond the forecast temperature and I was far too overdressed and uncomfortable. It's cooling down again now and I'll probably be grumbling about how chilly it is later this evening.
