Ring The Bell

Our local fire station had an open day today, so we called in on our way home from my mum’s.

There was plenty going on, with lots of hands-on things for the children to do. The longest queue was to rescue a child from a burning building! This entailed child volunteers dressing in masks and pretend oxygen tanks, then entering a large tent filled with smoke mist. Once inside visibility was very limited and they had to find the child dummy. Apparently George froze when he got inside but then he’s only 4 :-)

This old fire truck from 1955 was in beautiful condition and I can vouch that the bell definitely worked!!
