Xylem Wells

We had another lovely day in Chestertown and surroundings.  We had lunch in Rock Hall on the Chesapeake Bay.  This is where George Washington would land after taking a boat from Annapolis.  After lunch we headed to the Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge where way in the distance we could see the tall buildings of Baltimore.  We encountered some pine trees that had the most beautiful bark and these unusual holes placed by Woodpeckers called Xylem Wells.  I have posted a picture of the Baltimore skyline which isn't very good but you will get the idea and another of the beautiful bark.
