…it begins

the duking out

of the elements of nature

in the high country - between fall and winter - you can see the - ridges of bright yellow - aspens dotting the - mountainside and foothills - in all their glorious - fall golden splendor - while creeping up the - mountains cloud cover - is now beginning - to produce that - beautiful white snow - pack covering the mountain tops

neither will last long - the glory days - of the aspens - are numbered as our - days cool down - and the snow will - melt off quickly - as it’s just too - warm even at high - altitude to remain - more than a couple - of days yet - it’s enough of - a reminder that - seasons will be changing - time is moving on - and we need - to ready ourselves - for what lies ahead

i’m not quite ready - i still want to - savor these last days - of summer warmth - and what the gardens - can offer up before - they’re broken down - i want to enjoy - those last tiny buds - opening against all odds - cheering them into - full blooms ‘just because’ - maybe because i don’t - wanna let go - maybe because i - have a bit - of a fighter - attitude in me - maybe just because - i want to have…
