A Britannia class British Railways Standard locomotive is being prepared for service on the Maidstone Model Engineering Club’s track this afternoon. What a magnificent machine. Also prominently featured today was the equally magnificent P2 class locomotive Lord President. All P2s were scrapped, however, the A1 Locomotive Society, who built Tornado are well on the way to completing a brand new P2 which will be named Prince of Wales. A different Prince of Wales to the one to whom the loco was originally named after.

Lovely day in Mote Park, especially this afternoon. Dull and wet first thing. We had an easy morning then went for a walk, ending up at the allotment to find a large crop of runner beans which had grown while we were away. Super tender.

Spoke to Chris and Landon, they’re in Hawaii for a week with Chris’s mum. FaceTime all the way from Hawaii. Who’d have thought it?
