Red Sentinel

This  morning, with a forecast for rain later, we went  for a local walk to our wildlife area and up to Yew Hill butterfly reserve. The memorial crab  apple tree which the family of Peter and our group planted in March this year. Tree planting ceremony  and which flowered well a month later, at Easter, crab apple blossom is now full of fruit, even though we did remove some of the apples  a couple of months ago to prevent the tree being overwhelmed. I hope the birds enjoy eating them.
As it turned out, it didn't  rain later, so we collected  windfall apples in our garden, and cut them up and froze them, and I made a blackberry and apple crumble.
