Allons-Y!

The great safari to the New World begins today with a flight to Toronto to catch Car 1 of Via Canada which will transfer us through Ontario, Manitoba Saskatchewan, Alberta,up and over the Rockies to Vancouver in British Columbia, there to meet Berkeleyblipper and Oilman.

We have 4 nights and 3 days in a cosy cabin a deux on the train. Well I hope it is a cosy amicable journey and that there is no marital disharmony in such a confined space,although murder on the Rocky Mountaineer is a distinct possibility.

We all head south through Washington State and Oregon to Santa Rosa in California, meeting up with LocalFoodLover in Bellingham and more non blipping friends in Tacoma on the way.

The Dower House is as tidy and clean as is possible, the passports are packed as well as the Visas for the USA, our holiday hair has been cut back to the wood, the sunglasses are in the case, iPad and chargers remembered, North American adapters in place, and the seats booked on the plane.

Nothing left to do but turn the key in the lock and sit back and enjoy our holiday.
