Early Morning Pond

Small pond on a local ranch, nicely lit by early morning sun. This scene is quite typical of how rural Central Texas looks. Native grasses, oak and cedar/juniper trees, and a fair amount of ponds. Texas has the second greatest water surface of any state, which surprises some folks. These trees are stressed, perhaps dead or dying, likely because of our lengthy drought. While in some areas grasses are still quite green, other areas are showing die-off of grass as in this area.
