It was on friday!!

For the past 10 years I have accompanied .Sheil and the Kendal Choral choir on many trips to St Blaise du Buis near Voiron, Grenoble for their joint concerts with the French choir Toutes Aures.

As a "choir husband" I have easily slipped into the role of drinking wine, eating gourmet food, meeting lovely friends and of course sketching, during their rehearsals and on joint trips to the spectacular areas of the Chartreuse, Vercors and the French Alps.

The French choir are now here in Kendal for the joint concert tonight of Handel's Messiah. Last night at a dinner for about 90 singers and friends, the members of the French choir were presented with this 20 page book of about 50 of my sketches done on the trips to France. I was overcome with their joy of receiving and in good French traditional style there was a lot of kissing!!!!

After the dinner we had a jazz group to entertain us, but no sketching last night - a night of meeting friends, drinking wine and eating gourmet food at Carus Green, a new and highly recommended restaurant in Kendal.

I had got Stramongate Press in Kendal to publish the book and they were most helpful. To me it was important that we used a local business
