Autumn colours (again)

I say again because we have had what the plant world folk are calling a 'false' autumn. This was caused by the very hot weather we had in July and the drought. Now we are coming into the proper autumn, the berries are colouring nicely. Folk wisdom has it that the berries colouring early means a hard winter is on the way - l hope not.
