It’s Chris’s 40th Birthday today so this afternoon we had a family get together at Weston-super-Mare to celebrate. We played a round of indoor, fluorescently-lit crazy golf on what was the old aquarium, before sitting on the front while he opened his presents, followed by a meal in the restaurant overlooking the beach.

This gigantic art installation is sitting, until November, next to the golf and restaurant building. It’s a reclaimed oil rig that has been redesigned to promote the themes of recycling and conservation and makes a pretty impressive sight.

Entry is free and there was an hour long queue to get in and go round it so we thought we’d leave it for a week day when it might be quieter.
