Gardening
Yesterday we bought fifty onion plugs but, since I didn't have time to get them into the ground after digging it over lightly, that was this afternoon's task. Actually I'm not convinced they're the large cooking onions that we wanted as they look more like baby shallot plants, but time will tell and it won't matter at all.
Steve finished off all the irrigation pipes that were required and then did some strimming along the path down to the veggie patch and around the compost heaps... I really prefer them unstrimmed so that I can look at the wild flowers, but I'm sure that once it gets a bit hotter i.e. shorts weather and the biting insects hatch out, I'll be glad that there's no vegetation around my legs.
On the way back to the village we saw a Golden Oriole in flight, which is a real treat, they are such a flash of colour.
