Vaccine Tourists

Our letters for the covid and flu vaccinations came through but the date clashes with M's next hospital visit.  Trying to change the date was pretty challenging.  The website showed no availability when checked over the last few days at any of the 3 sites in Mull and none showing in Oban etc either.  Tried phoning and was offered Aviemore, Inverness and the Black Isle - so far away it would have involved an overnight stay somewhere on the mainland.  Then this morning I tried online again and still nothing in Mull but did spot one slot for today over in Kilchoan.  Quickly decided to go for it and reserved the slot, headed down for the ferry that goes from Tobermory over to Kilchoan.  They were a bit surprised to see us at community centre there - and M wasn't showing as on their list.  I had wondered how joined up it would be.  But they were really helpful and found his records online and he got his jags.  They had some left over and asked me if I wanted mine doing too.  I took the Covid one but not the flu (will stick to the original appointment) as felt a bit grim after last year's and am meant to be going to Oban Saturday and decided to play safe.  Back home on the ferry - the wind had picked up and it was a bit of a rocky ride but refreshing.  Interesting way to spend most of a day!
