Recovery

Colchicum troodii, raised from seed collected in Upper Galilee by a friend in 2009.  It was a slow developer, first flowering in 2018  but then suffering a decline during the first years of my move to Wales.   Happily, now recovered to flower again :-)

Busy day.   Admin for Ruth before work, more calls and emails to resolve things other people left hanging :-/   It does beggar belief that when Birmingham City Council publish (in April) the revised rates for Home Care funding these are not automatically applied to personal budgets.   The outcome - providers eventually threaten to withdraw the service.   Fortunately I picked the right person to phone first and if BCC actually read and action their email request, problem solved.   IF ......    Then a reply from the OT saying to await a letter regarding the Disabled Facilities Grant which is allegedly in the post.   Finally a phone call where I was - once again - told 'it will be discussed next week'.   They will be getting another call next week .... all we are trying to do here is correct someone else's administrative mistake but the service Ruth cannot access at present is an important one.  Once again, the incompetence just beggars belief.   It's just as well I'm not Mr Angry.   The impact on Ruth's of all this is distressing :-(

Five hours at work, a busier day at Aber cafe then a drive to the other Aber for Jamie's wheelchair basketball session.  A lie in tomorrow I think.
