Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Tuesday — Privacy Fence & Gate

“As slow as molasses” is the thought running through my mind these last few days of this project.

The team of two, Antonio and Victor, that finished the Allan Block retaining walls — just seemed to take forever. Now, the man building the fences, Alfredo, seems to be taking an eternity. All of them have some degree of artisan or highly skilled craftsman in them. Watching Victor and Antonio cut stone to perfectly fit around the two large rocks in our hill and watching Alfredo saw curves in our wood fence railing, free hand, has revealed that.

My photos, however, reveal process: little-by-little and progress. When this project is complete, our property will be secure for our pups; they will be fenced in even on the upper level of our backyard and we, ourselves will not fall over the edge of the walls to the level below, and we will have handrails to assist us as we walk up or down the sloping paths.

The reason for the little bit of solid fencing is privacy; when sitting at our fire ring the people in the vacation rental next door will not be able to see that area from their windows. There is a gate in that solid area for access to the flowerbed on the level below.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
