Birthday bouquet....

.....it was mum's (walkingS) birthday yesterday, 86yrs!

Mum was hoping for a white birthday, snow was very close but didn't make it to her doorstep. Nevermind, she enjoyed her day hearing from family and friends via phone calls, text, messenger and visits.

We chatted over lunch today, took a trip out to the estuary, enjoying the warmth of the sun after the bitter wind of yesterday, nice to be 'out and about'.

I can't believe the changes mum has seen in her lifetime and how well she has coped with them, technology being a huge one. As a child there was one phone hooked up to a party line through to an telephonist, today she's using a cell phone for calls and messaging, she can take photos and put them on our family group without any mishaps! She's still gardening and uses an exercycle daily, fit as a fiddle!
