Sri Lankan Beetroot and Carrot Curry

Planned to make a borscht, but no cabbage. Searched for idea and found this recipe in icloud recipes.

Luckily have a cupboard packed with spices, and had the required: fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black mustard seeds, cloves, cardamon, chilli powder …

It took longer to roast, grind and then sieve the spices, than prepare the vegetables. Well worth it tho’.

Went down Old Christchurch Rd to a new find, an excellent small Indian food shop. Need to restock on a couple of spices. Then to Westbourne where we managed to get walk in flu jabs. Just my Covid to do now in a couple of weeks.

Shall tuck into my curry shortly, served with pilau rice and spinach.
