No trains

We drove up to Lelant this morning, parked up and walked along the coast to St Ives, stopping off at the Carbis Bay hotel for a coffee.  It was a beautiful autumn morning with a light breeze and sunshine.

UNTIL we got to St Ives and the heavens opened.  It wasn’t a long outbreak but was enough to soak us and our backpacks.  Fortunately I had opted to wear my waterproof trousers and they dried off quickly, unlike my bag.

It was very quiet around town and we were the only customers in the fish and chip restaurant.  Of course Friday is the main changeover day.

Bus back to Lelant where, had we arrived five minutes earlier, we wouldn’t have been issued with a parking ticket.  One machine wasn’t working and we didn’t spot the other round the corner.  Also the other cars didn’t have tickets in their windows.  Never mind.

Packing up tonight, ready to leave early tomorrow.  We’re heading up the north Devon but not before I visit the graves of my grandad, grandmother, great grandad and great-great grandad and 2xgreat grandmother.

My first extra is in memory of Jenny (Imagen) who died earlier this year and who loved Godrevy and photographed it many times, and so well.  The other could have been taken in the Caribbean, but wasn’t.
