White Elephant

Genealogy and the family tree has been very much in the background for the last few years but today was yet again cold and wet so had a short session today. The white elephant in the room is the microfiche reader on the right and the many fiche I've accumulated over many years in the past. CFHS (Cambridge Family History Society) and its equivalents in Lancashire and elsewhere are putting records on to computer CDs. Sooner or later I will have to face reality and it will join gramophones and wireless sets in gadget heaven. And just at top left you can see part of a picture of my old Dad somewhere in Germany and he and mum before I existed - a technology that still works.
