Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum

Finally got a chance to get to the Luxton museum. The museum wasn't in the best of shape but I suppose it is still off season. The roof was leaking in a few places, a lot of lights were either not on or burnt out. I'll cut them some slack because they don't get a lot of visitors in the winter. We got free admission with our Banff Ambassador passes so we've wanted to go for a while now. This picture was taken through a glass display of the buffalo herding technique that they would use to drive them off a cliff for their meat and furs. Although this doesn't sound very humane, most buffalo died on impact and those that didn't were immediately put out their mercy by archers down below. It depicts a very different time in our history.
