Autumn Glory

Today we took our friend  Y-Y and her sister- in-law, who is staying with her, to Hillier's Gardens. As you can see, it was a gloriously sunny early autumn day. The main shows the pond with  stunning Taxodium distichum (Swamp Cypress) while the extra shows a variety of Ash.
Now we are going out for  a local quiz in aid of a charity .
10.45pm As we walked back after the quiz, we couldn't help noticing the almost full moon and a smaller, but very bright planet above and to the right of the moon. We viewed it through Martin's telescope and could see it was Jupiter with three of its moons just visible! An amazing surprise at the end of a great day.
