burning bridges

Putin celebrated his 70th birthday party. Ukraine helped. There is a bridge between Russia and Crimea built by Russia after they annexed Crimea. Putin himself celebrated by driving a truck across the bridge in 2018. Bridge go boom. $4 BILLION bridge go boom. 

This is important not just symbolically but because it will make it even harder to resupply Russian troops. The bridge was a road and rail connection.

Within hours of the attack there were social memes everywhere, demonstrating that Ukraine is the master of social media.


 A heartbroken 10-year-old Ukrainian refugee from Odessa has been reunited with her cat, Arnessi. They made their way to the US. The flight attendant, Dee Harnish, checked in on them to see how they were doing and learned that Agnessa missed hugging and sleeping with her cat. Dee told another flight attendant, Caroline Viola, who rescues animals.  The girl's uncle was watching the cat in Ukraine. He took Arsenii on his motorcycle across the Ukraine border to Moldova where he passed the feline to a driver, who took him and a refugee family to Romania. Arsenii spent about a month with a family in Bucharest. Multiple other people helped and they are together now.
