Loki, God of Mischief (Sunday 9th October 2022)

I didn't see Loki for most of the afternoon at C's and he had to be called in from wherever he'd been sleeping outside, but was as obliging as ever once he'd woken up. I'd stopped very briefly by the canal bridge on Spout Lane on the way over to Trowbridge for a back-up blip. It wasn't needed, but I have added one in Extras.

Cleveland Francis - Little Green Apples (1970)
The big hit version of Bobby Russell's Little Green Apples was by Roger Miller in 1968 and since then literally everyone in the world has had a bash at it. Cleveland Francis, then a young black man from the segregated south in Virginia, self-released this soul-folk version in 1970, but I hadn't heard of it until a compilation of his work, Beyond The Willow Tree, appeared this summer and the very reliable Cerys Matthews played it on her show a week or so ago.
