Sunset

Day two of our holiday started in fine style with a full English breakfast in the pub round the corner from the hotel. We drove to Poole Quay with plenty of time to explore the Old Town before our two hour harbour cruise to Swanage to see Sandbanks, Brownsea Island and Old Harry Rocks.

Back in Bournemouth, we walked up Hengistbury Head. The views included Christchurch harbour, Mudeford sandbank and the Needles on the Isle of Wight.

The commentator on the boat informed us the Old Harry Rocks and the Needles were once joined so it was interesting to see both ends of the former 20 mile ridge of chalk.
