Gravesend Town Pier

After a morning shopping, Mum and I went down to the Thames Riverside at Gravesend to eat our sandwiches in the sun, and watch the world. Unfortunately it clouded over and turned quite chilly, so Mum retired to the car leaving me to potter along the beach and riverside walk with the camera.

This shot is of the Gravesend Town Pier, built in 1834 and the oldest remaining cast iron pier. In the background are the cranes of Tilbury Docks, plus some more modern wind turbines which seem to be springing up all over the place.
