Deep Purple

Trip to Amsterdam to see Purple. The support band were Jefferson Starship, who I have only seen once before (well they were just called Starship then, and it was in 1988 at the Reading Festival). Jefferson Starship were excellent, much better than I remember them.

Deep Purple (as usual) was mainly a greatest hits set, with a few new ones thrown in. The main change was the new guitarist Simon McBride replacing Steve Morse. Simon's style is a lot crisper than Steve's which suited the Blackmore era stuff better I feel.

I was right at the front so came away with a guitar pick and a drum stick.
