If you can't beat them...

Carved sheep seat.

We needed various things from one of our suppliers for the Lodge.  We could have chosen from the catalogue or online and had it delivered but we decided to make a day of it.  So mid morning we collected Kanyl and off we went.

The trip to Kirkby Stephen didn't take long and we passed Brough Castle which would have made a suitable blip if we had chosen to stop.  First stop our supplier and soon we had gathered everything we needed so on into the town.  Sadly our favourite cafe was unexpectedly closed so we settled for Costa instead.  After the coffee, we set off to find a suitable place for lunch.  On the way, we passed the pair of what I think are intended as seats.  Situated outside the visitors' centre they would be an uncomfortable seat as the seat part is carved in ridges to represent wool.

The blip is a detail of one of the four heads which form the ends of both the seats.  They are carved as sheep because sheep farming is the main occupation in the area.
