Taxing Times

I was out this afternoon to help a friend.

If you have never used www.elster.de. be very grateful.  There is nothing that compares to it.

The most deliberately complicated and badly designed website ever.  The icing on the cake - everything on the website is explained in Bureaucratic German which means it is so opaque and dense that you can get no sense from it.  The "help" is very much along the lines of "Don't make mistakes".

Hessen is the only Bundesland in Germany that has decided that the Land Register entries HAVE to be submitted online. No other possibility.

First time through and every page would tell you what information was wrong.  Then on the last page, I hit send. "Sorry there are things missing".  What's missing? I asked - "Things" it said.  No other information.  Literally nothing.

I'm an experienced IT professional - and it took me more than 3 hours to get this piece of sh1t to work.
