Spiders Aren’t Scary

Halloween is fast approaching and widely celebrated around the world.  On the back of this tradition, we’d like to put together a selection of photos that would appeal to the media.

Can you help with a search for spiders from your 2022 journals please?

We’re looking to create a piece with some stunning spider images from around the world.  We’d add short anecdotes about the arachnid or your discovery of it either from your journal entry or some extra information you can give us.

We’re going to need to work quickly.  So here’s the brief:

Please tag a maximum of THREE images #PRspider from 2022.
Add any extra information you think we’d find useful in the journal entry of each photo you tag.



We are looking for images taken in 2022.
We’d like to reflect our pitch ‘spiders aren’t scary’ and a caring reflection on all aspects of nature.


Remember, you can search for images where you have mentioned a spider even if you haven’t tagged it by typing into the search bar:  


by journalname spider   OR    @journalname spider 

To search for images where you have tagged your entry spider try this:

by journalname tagged spider  OR   @journalname #spider 


If this doesn’t work for you (it won’t on all devices), please feel free to enjoy browsing back through your journal to locate the one you’re thinking about :)


So, if you have a relevant image or images you could share for media purposes either:

1.  Tag them #PRspider (for Press Release spider)
2.  Send us an email with links to your journal entries to: marketing@blipfoto.com
3.  Add a comment here with links to your journal entries

AND
Add a snippet of any extra information you think we would find useful e.g. location including country, anecodote about the spider, your discovery of it, your thoughts about it, etc.

Q.  Do we credit you?  
Yes - we will add your journal name like this: ‘Photograph: WharfedaleBex/Blipfoto’ but by all means, we can use your image anonymously if you prefer.

Q.  Will you share a URL weblink to my actual journal?
No.  We are only looking to use images from your journals with information about the event. 


Q.  Must the image have been taken on the day?
A.  Yes.


We hope that our collective images and journal write-ups will create some admiration for the much maligned spider and of course, at the same time, highlight Blipfoto.  

We know spiders aren’t for everyone hence choosing a more subtle image for our community post. However, we also know many of you love our eight-legged friends so please do take part if you can.
