Feeling militant

The disputed housing development just up the road from me is built on a flood plane.  It has been vigorously opposed for many reasons the main one being the impact on the ancient drainage and sewerage system of the village.

Nothing satisfactory has been agreed, but the developers continue on apace.  Today I saw them cutting down two mature horse chestnut trees that they had agreed would be saved as part of the landscaping.  It's one thing building and knocking down houses, but you can't grow large lovely trees like that in a hurry.  (Birds eye view of the location is in extras).

It feels like they are going ahead without compunction on a site that was already ill chosen.

I'm going to register my complaint here.  If you are so inclined, the report that references the agreed plan to keep the trees has a reference number of S/1963/15/CONDF.  Mysteriously it is no longer is easy to find online...  but our tree officer assures me that is the correct reference.
