Peeking Over

The fountain in Giraldo Square (which is actually a long rectangle), made of a single block of the local marble.

Plans were suddenly changed for us at the last minute, so decided to go to Évora. Mike is looking for a trip switch for our solar electricity and more info; I wanted to get some photos printed.

Took advantage to see a Portuguese film, A Fada do Lar, which was quite good, and more insight into the country and culture we live in. It's supposed to be a comedy and the guy behind us laughed a lot, but seemed more tragic to us - about a single mum who has to work two jobs to support her two kids, and ends up having to do community service in an old people's home because she hits a horrible man who keeps trying it on. Ends happily, but I'm guessing there's a lot of women in that situation at the moment here...

Gratefuls:
- that my husband never left me with kids to bring up on my own!
- a Brazilian black beans and rice and farofa lunch
- a  stunning sunset on the way home
