Not that you and I could use it these days, however upmarket the maker. Big, lumpy, square, heavy. Useless.

Unless you have a car like the 1936 Austin Ascot in the extra. The boot lid goes down flat, like a shelf. You put your monster case on that, covered with a tarpaulin, and at your destination one or two servants heave it indoors.

I had a car just like it once, also in caramel. I was only its second owner, the first having been the wife of Major General Clutterbuck. Since that was the sound it made when cruising at 40mph, Clutterbuck's what we called it. I loved it, but it needed more tlc than I could afford, so I passed it on to a good home.
