One day at a time

Conkers

Our horse chestnut tree on our village green is magnificent. Each year it provides a plentiful supply of conkers. It seems, though, the traditional game I played each autumn without fail in my childhood isn’t as popular nowadays. I can’t remember the last time I saw two children having a game. Someone has placed them on the wall of the war memorial which makes cutting the green much easier.
