Aber Falls

With the return of dry fine weather I put into action the plan abandoned yesterday to visit Penrhyn Castle. This Victorian pile (extra 1) was built to show off its owner's vast wealth earned from sugar and slate, The entrance hall alone (extra 2) was breath taking in its height and grandeur.

For the afternoon I took myself off the Abergwyngregyn and undertook the walk up the valley to the Aber Falls. It was a bit of a trek but worth the effort. The 120ft / 37m high falls were worth the effort. The photo doesn't really do justice to the scale of the falls ... though if you look large and carefully you be able to spot an, albeit headless, sheep to give you some sense.
