Rattray Head Lighthouse

In sharp contrast to the breakers crashing noisily ashore at Pennan yesterday Rattray beach was sunny and peaceful. A group of curious seals watched us and occasionally keened eerily to each other. There were several rafts of eiders - it was so quiet that when one group flew between us and the lighthouse we could hear their wing beats.
