This Way to the Sea

Today I enjoyeda circular walk between Widemouth Bay and Bude. The outward stretch includes a great walk along the Bude canal. I watched this cormorant fishing in the canal, and then drying it's wings on the canal bank, I was fortunate to get this shot from just a few feet away!The canal path leads all the way to the sea where there are a pair of enormous lock gates. After a walk out onto the breakwater, I walked back along the coast path, where ther were views today as far as Lundy Island.
