Stunner

When we woke up it was grey and rainy so we decided to do some browsing for things to do in Sydney on a wet day, and took our time before launching into an expected round of galleries and museums. However by the time we’d finished browsing, got dressed and were ready to leave we realised it had cleared up and was sunny and the forecast said it would just get better all day. Change of plan!
We headed to Bondi….. so lovely to be on yet another gorgeous Aussie beach, this time one we could easily walk the entire length of (unlike further north where they just seemed to run for miles!), which we did, there and back. Sat on the beach for a while and K built a sandcastle, then walked round the headland and looked at the rainbows in the waves and beaches in the next bay. Just beautiful, barely a cloud in the sky and lots of surfers out there. We sat with a jug of Pimms overlooking the sea swimming pool (indistinguishable of course from the one at Pittenweem!) just lapping it up, and watching them apparently peeling a huge picture of sharks from the floor of one nd of the pool and dragging it to the side and folding it up…quite a job!
The beach only rally started to fill up with people about 4pm when we were leaving (and even then not that many) so it was all just lovely to explore.
Caught the bus and train home very straightforwardly and showered then set off to meet DK and her friend RS who apparently I’d once met with her before when they were in Edinburgh some years ago. We walked through Enmore…the area was buzzing and lovely, with loads of people queueing up for a gig at the big concert hall/theatre and at various food outlets. We had a great cocktail in a bar called Fortunate Son with very friendly staff, then on for dinner at Columbo Social….delicious Sri Lankan food (never had beetroot curry before,) and we chatted about places to visit, compared pandemic rules experiences, weather, museums, restaurants etc etc.
we’d just missed a train so decided to get a cab home ….great end to a lovely day
