Wine and water

The village fair filled the streets with stalls selling plants, goats' cheese, olive oil, strawberries, asparagus, wine, bread and much more. At lunchtime our friends who run the village shop organised a meal for about 16 of us at a table in the street outside their door. We all brought something: LoJ made his speciality sage leaf fritters, I made an apricot tart (last year's fruit from the freezer), we took white wine, and the red wine was brought by our wine-making friends, the 2011 vintage that we helped pick the grapes for, meat was barbecued at the kerbside, salads were shared, a very enjoyable few hours spent.....siesta time now!
