Ernest Junction Tunnel cc 188 - 1889-1964

In and out of hospital these days visiting my husband, a breath of fresh air do me good. This historical site opens to public only for two weeks. The South Coast Railway Line 1889-1964 Brisbane to Southport and Tweed Heads used to transport sugar canes and other farm produce, later for passengers to the beach (took 3 hours each way). And finally phased out replaced by highway of motor vehicles and modern trains. The tunnel was maintained by enthusiasts and is now a tunnel of art and sometimes as venue for concerts etc.
