With the Championship looming ever closer and after a good performance on Monday against Middlesbourgh I thought that the game today would be a real belter. Newcastle, however seemed to think otherwise, playing as if they were safe in the middle of the table with nothing to lose or gain. Kevin Nolan especially must only have covered about 200yds the full 90 minutes, a mystery how he was not taken off. Adding the chalking off of what appeared to be a perfectly reasonable goal made for a bad start to the weekend.

Still, afterwards was the main event: my future brother-in-law's stag night. A meal at La Tasca, easy and different but not entirely satisfactory for the price was followed by a walk up to the station end of Newcastle to queue endlessly and be overcharged for drinks. Nice to see everyone though.
