Happy Days

The day began with a knock on the hotel bedroom door. They knocked twice so I answered it. It was house keeping and it was 09:09am! We didn’t need to check out till 11am so we went for a quick swim and sit in the jacuzzi before checking out.

We discovered a little tea room in the Shambles and devoured a bacon and sausage sandwich with a large pot of tea each. We wondered around in the sunshine exploring the Guild Hall, a ghost walk and experienced a Gin tasting session curtesy of Yorkshire Gin. More site seeing before finding a Tapas bar. We’d intended to have some Manchego cheese with Quince jelly with a glass of larger for extra refreshment. We ended up also consuming some croquettes and a flight of sherry each! It was delicious.
It’s been fantastic catching up with Jackie.

We ended with a cuppa and slice of carrot cake at the hotel before collecting our bags and heading back to the station.

I’m on the last leg of my journey now from Newcastle. It’s full off drunk people who’ve been to Oktoberfest and Rugby supporters. All seem well behaved but the transport police are here just incase. I’m pleased Tom is collecting me from the station.
