Kingdom

We followed a trail of Artists' Open Studios around Fife. Met lots of nice creative people, bought some lovely objects too. It's a wonderful part of the world, I love that locals still think of themselves as inhabiting "The Kingdom of Fife", a title that goes back to the Picts. It's a rich and fertile place and you feel that whoever lived here, whenever, would have kept it closely guarded. There's a mystical quality to it, too, lots of interesting lumps and bumps to raise your eyes to on the horizon.

I'm guessing that this field might be ready for potatoes? My grandad would have called these raised rows 'dreels', though he never farmed on such a vast scale.
