Bah humbug!

Into DIY world today, in search of bookshelves to fit a particular niche, only to be greeted with this lot at the front door. In my retail days, nobody did Halloween-à-la-Disney. You did your Guy Fawkes window, and only then did you turn your attention to Christmas.

But this? Save us! And it gets worse. On the way home we passed a huge tractor and trailer loaded to the gunwales with Christmas trees. So if you go out to buy one later on, think whether it's going to keep the needles on till first night, let alone twelfth night.

By the way, up the road at Daviot we found some old baker's shelves which fit the niche exactly. Wrecked enough by life and bakery, just wanting the gentlest sand a lot of wax.
