Scottish Surfing Federation

A beautiful sunrise, but clouded over.  Rain came in this afternoon and evening, really heavy at times, drier tonight.  Windy all day.

Up early, and a day working in the airport on the check-in desk.  A steady day of passengers, everything on time.  Finished work and headed to watch the surfing.  On my way home, I popped by Jonny and family, and then along Laura too.  Working in the shop this evening, and a quieter night with the heavy showers.  Time for feet up now.

A new event in Shetland for the first time, a surfing competition.  Local surfers have finally managed to organise the Scottish Surfing Federation to hold a competition here.  Locals and visitors taking part, and a good crowd to watch, despite the weather.  Men, women and bairns all took part.  I don't know much about the points system, but will definitely research more, if this returns again next year.   As far I'm aware, the red team won, both men and women's. What a great event, great to see something different.  Brrr must have been a tad chilly, but sure Scottish surfers are used to it.  A tad close to the rocks at times, the wind was hard to stand up in, and the local seals were amused by all the action (note one in an extra). The dull day made it tricky to capture the fast movements. Taken at Toab Way, Virkie.
