Flying Home

Back Blip. We’re up at 6.30 and on the road shortly after 7, aiming to beat the traffic and make sure we get to the airport check-in on time. Which we do, with ample time to spare, even after stopping for gas and returning our rental car.

Our plane is one of Air New Zealand’s black series aircraft and seems to be completely full. The flight is (fortunately) uneventful, but we arrive at Auckland airport at the same time as four other international flights. It takes an hour and twenty minutes to get through biosecurity and customs, and our waiting in line is punctuated with frequent apologies for the delay.
