Autumn

After a somewhat restless night I awoke just after 7 to take the dogs out. We set off across the misty fields as the first warm tentacles of sunlight crept silently across the land.

Nell had a massive wee so we came back.

I unloaded the dishwasher and then fired up the coffee machine, it ground it's beans to a fine powder before spewing forth the gift of rich coffee with an impressive crema layer, delicious. I also took H a cup of tea.

After dressing we loaded Nell into the car and set off towards Cambridge. Nell is not a keen traveler so H sat in the back with her in an effort to calm her, it went well.

We were soon at our destination 'Beech Woods' a fabulous spot with beech trees and paths and fallen leaves and stuff. Nell had a marvelous time, running betwixt the trees, gamboling in the fallen leaves, the autumn sunlight glinting off her copper coat.

We then went home for more coffee.

Lunch was a meagre affair consisting of a pitta and some left over cheese.

The afternoon flashed by in a blur. Food prep, some minor commerce and a little rodent stalking.

This evening H and I prepared a sumptuous feast of roasted poultry, it was delicious. We were joined by Poppy and Johnnie, what fine company they are.

I then put the bin out.

With love to my splendid Sister
