Upstream Struggle

Bit of a distant view but it was so slippery and treacherous getting down to Buchanty Spout that I decided not to risk it and just took a photo from the bridge. Lots of salmon hurling themselves up the falls. I was chatting to a couple who were also photographing from the bridge and they said something which I've always thought - even though you see lots of salmon heading up the falls you never see any salmon in the river before or after the falls, even though the river is really clear. It's a mystery!
