Today’s walk

We had elected to go on today’s walk with our walking group. Another long drive, this time to Orcombe, near Montacute in Somerset. The GPS took us down an extremely narrow lane which we avoided on the return journey. It was another mild sunny day and we had some fine views from Ham Hill. We found a sunny spot for lunch and were invaded by ladybirds which were attracted to our clothing.
This is the church of St Mary the Virgin in East Stoke dating from the 12th Century and much of it is Norman. An enjoyable eight mile walk in fine company. We did have one very steep section to walk down and although I had a walking pole, I was twice offered a helping hand which I accepted.
