Sgwarnog: In the Field

Copper

Another sunny day, and some more autumn butterflies: a couple of Small Copper (main image), a few Red Admiral and a single Comma.

Later, I headed to football at Guiseley, who were hosting current Northern Premier League leaders FC United of Manchester. As a recently invented club FCUM have sought to develop an instant heritage based on that of the club (Man Utd) its founders abandoned. In this fantasy world Guiseley, as a suburb of Leeds, has been afforded the rival status associated with Leeds United. Which meant, unusually for this level of football, a segregated fixture and a series of off the field unsavoury incidents throughout the game, including racist language, offensive chants, pitch intrusions and the grabbing of the Guiseley keeper over the perimeter rails.  Not really what I come to football for.
