Cup Winners

I have had this photo for many years, but have only recently learned some details of the players' cup triumph. The team is Heaton Stannington, whose ground is a stone's throw from my front door, where I had a pleasant afternoon with Shaaamie almost a year ago.

Dad played for the team and was part of the side which won the Northern Amateur League Challenge Cup in April '59, beating West Allotment Celtic 3-2 in the final.
